"As a realist, I enjoy drawing with a ball point pen. My drawing employs a soft crosshatching style that slowly builds up while transferring the original color to soft black and white tones. Strange as it may seem, I do not pre-sketch the image with pencil, but rather start somewhere in the center and work my way out to the sides. It gets done when it gets done. Because of the exorbitant amount of detail and time required to draw in this style, there are not a large number of ball point pen drawings in my collection. My drawings are more of a personal record of favorite places I have visited as well as those I hold dear to my heart. And, unlike the ability to make as many copies as you'd like from a photograph, my pen drawings are original, one-of-a-kind pieces.
